March #PFWorkout Update

Two weeks ago, I wrote a quick post about using the #pfworkout hashtag on Twitter. The idea was sparked from Cupcakes, Serendipity and I checking in on each other re: our workout goals, and finally realizing that we couldn’t be the only personal finance bloggers who might like the extra support.

I’m so happy to say that many of you have used the hashtag at least once and some bloggers (Below Her Means, Bog of Debt, Elizabeth, Erika and Travis) are using it almost daily! It’s been a great motivator for me on mornings when I don’t feel like getting out of bed and I’ve even learned a few things (like I need to find a kickboxing class stat!).

At the end of each month, I’m going to post a short update on my weight loss progress. Thanks to Lose It! I am able to keep track of everything from pounds lost to my average calorie intake.

This month, I:

  • worked out on 18 of 31 days (including today and tomorr0w)
  • ate an average of 1700.9 calories each day
  • lost 8.0 lbs.
  • lost 4.5″

For my first full month of calorie counting and working out, I’m ecstatic with the results!

  2. Kickboxing class is a huge amount of fun. I love using #PFWorkout because I get to see that it’s not just me going to the gym–like you said, it’s immensly motivational. And I know that I really want to try that PBfingers treadmill workout sometime soon. I’ve reached that point where it’s hard to lose weight/inches–so it does inspire me to not give up when I see others still going.

    • I really want to try kickboxing! And I just found out a couple of our gyms offer TRX… might try that sometime too!

  4. Best pfworkout moment this month was yesterday, I ran 8k, my longest distance to date, and it felt great! Glad to see you are making real progress!

  5. Great job, C! I successfully petitioned for a stand up desk at my work this month, so I’m standing most of the day now. I think I’ve lost about another half pound. I am hoping to really kick into gear in April – I haven’t been to the gym at all in March. UGH.

    Also, I made snickerdoodle cookies on Sunday and have been eating 3+ every day. They are finally gone as of last night…no more sugar for me for a while.

    • Haha, that always happens w/ snickerdoodles… that’s ok! Gotta enjoy the good stuff sometimes :)

      So jealous of your standup desk. Love that it’s helping you burn calories too!

  7. Great job. I recently signed up with my friends on myfitnesspal.com and have also lost 7lbs this month. It feels awesome. And what an eye opener to what I was eating before. Hope I can keep it up. I will for sure start logging my workouts with you guys again too. I did it once then not again. Sorry. Keep up the good work by everyone!!

  9. I’m using it!! I started last weekend for my yoga class.. I think yoga is kind of soft compared to what you guys are doing so I’ll be the lazy #pfworkout blogger hahaha but I’m definitely going to participate!!
