August 2012 Budget & A Time Out
August is a three paycheque month for me and, with two conferences to save for next month, the timing couldn’t be better. #FinCon12 in Denver is already almost 100% paid for but I still need to book my flight to Toronto for #CPFC12. I haven’t put that extra spending in this monthly budget but I expect the flight / week away to cost me $750+.
I took some of what last month’s actual budget showed me into consideration and gave myself a little extra cash for summer fun and maybe even a few new items of clothing. While I’ve only lost 18.2 lbs. so far, I can already feel that a lot of my clothes are too big for me. And it’d be nice to own a few things that fit properly, especially for when I get to meet all of you next month!
Other goals for this month:
- Track all of my spending
- Continue counting calories on Lose It!
- Workout at least 5x per week
- Read a couple books
- Take a mini hiatus from blogging
Wait, what? Yes, you read that last one right. I’ve been really struggling with my writing lately… So much has happened in the last few weeks and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel totally lost right now. The spare time that was once used for homework is now completely available and I don’t know what I want to do with it. Things I thought I would do, I’m not going to. Directions I saw myself going in have now changed. And I don’t want this blog to become a mess, while I try to figure out what’s next.
I’ll still be on Twitter (although even that has seen less of me, recently). And I can’t imagine I’ll be gone longer than a week or two. I have big plans for where I see this blog heading but I think I just need some time to myself, to decompress and get into the groove of life without school, before I can start any new projects. I want to come back inspired, ready for whatever my next move is. So, this isn’t goodbye… I’ll be back soon.
Don’t be a stranger, xo
