Weekly Spending: January 14-20, 2013

Money Jars

The total at the bottom of this week’s spending report doesn’t look great, but 55% of that was put towards debt repayment, 25% was saved for planned spending, and another 5% was put directly into savings. Then I bought two LivingSocial deals ($5 for a $10 Starbucks card), which put me at $7 over my monthly restaurant budget. So, there will be no more of that this month! Finally, I used my entertainment budget for my trip to Burlington yesterday.

That was my week! How was yours?

  1. That’s awesome Cait, debt repayment feels good! What is living social? Sounds like a deal site? Great deal on the Starbucks cards can’t beat 50% off. How was Burlington? Did you go to IKEA? Have a great week mate. Mr.CBB

Yea, it’s a deal site. I never visit them but a friend sent me the link, knowing my horrible addiction to Starbucks… lol.

  4. You are so close to being debt free. Does it ever make you want to deveat from your savings plan and put even more on to the debt? Skipping the emergency fund payments for a few months to get rid of the debt even sooner?

I think that when I get close to being debt free I will want to sprint to the finish line.

Hmm, that’s a good question. I still think saving is important, especially because I already save such a minimal amount… My goal is to be debt-free by June 8th and that is definitely feasible based on what I’m currently doing. :)
