Weekly Spending: Jan 25-Feb 3, 2013

February 3, 2013
Money Jars

This is seriously one of the best weeks my budget has seen in a long time. First of all, look at all those no spend days. I can thank all of last Sunday’s meal planning for that. Second, of the total at the bottom, 29% went towards debt and 62% was saved, which means only 9% ($105.99) was spent. Crazy!

I’m challenging myself to repeat this week again next week. I have already made a pesto pasta salad for my lunches this week and should have enough food in the fridge for dinners.

No spend day!

That’s awesome Cait, better be careful Starbucks is going to start wondering where you ran off to lol… Keep up the good work!!! No spend days are awesome.

Ha! They do know me by name now…

Seriously, Cait – congratulations !!! Well done and keep up the good work.

    One question:
What’s the difference between your “Serious Coffee” and Starbucks?
Is Starbucks considered funnier drinking stuff? :-)

    • Cait February 3, 2013 at 10:04 pm

Wow, talk about a typo. Serious Coffee is a chain on Vancouver Island. I meant to write Second Cup, lol.

      • Rob February 4, 2013 at 7:41 am

I’ve had some of that serious coffee at Second Cup here in Toronto as well. :-)

Look at you in the 5,000s with your debt! Congrats!

    • Cait February 3, 2013 at 10:05 pm

      Thanks, Deena!

woop woop! Wish I had more time to read all of your posts! I know exactly how it feels to be doing what you are doing, only you have done it in much more of an organized fashion. It’s the reason why I can also relate to that show ‘Princess’ on Slice! :) Amazing how much debt you have paid off!

    • Cait February 7, 2013 at 11:19 am

Thanks, Megan! No need to read them all… but I’m always happy to talk about money, budgeting, etc. Excited to see you this spring!

I try so hard to keep track of my spending & adding it to my budget sheet every day. But this past week I have let some things slip by and I can’t remember what I spent. It’s scary feeling out of control.. worried I will spend too much. Seeing your weekly posts makes me think I should start keeping track this way & I can see when I have a “no spend day!”
